Introduction:
Sinoatrial node is termed as pacemaker of the heart because it initiates the heartbeat. It is the prime nodal center of heartbeat trigger firing. Such firing mechanism is done by the specialized cells in the SA node and its membrane potential. The change in the pacemaker potential of the SA node brings the heart rhythm a cyclic than a long refractory period in neurons.
