Interpretation:

Tetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic should be identified.

Concept introduction:

Role of antibiotics depends on two types of the spectrum such as broad-spectrum antibiotic and narrow spectrum antibiotic.
Narrow spectrum antibiotic generally acts on a selected group of bacteria such as effective either against gram-positive or gram-negative whereas broad-spectrum antibiotic is effective against a wide range of bacteria.
Penicillin G is effective against gram-positive but not much effective against gram-negative whereas such as tetracycline, ampicillin etc. are effective against a wide range of bacteria.
