Eubacteria are unicellular prokaryotes due to lack of true nucleus. They lack cell organelles and also their cell walls are not composed of cellulose, hemicellulose and pectin. Nutritionally they are autotrophs or heterotrophs.

The cell walls of Eubacteria contains peptidoglycan. Peptidoglycan is a polymer that contains two kinds of sugars which alternate in the chain. The amino acids of one sugar are linked to the amino acids in other chains. This linking creates a netlike strong structure which is simple and porous.
