To determine: The consequences for fat
Introduction:
Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) is an enzyme which is responsible for catalysis of irreversible carboxylation of acetyl-CoA to form malonyl-CoA. It is important for regulation of fatty acid synthesis along with its degradation.
To determine: The consequences for fat metabolism of a mutation in acetyl-CoAcarboxylase that replaces the serine residue normally phosphorylated by AMPK with an aspartate residue.
