Glycolysis is the process of breakdown of one molecule of glucose into 2 molecules of pyruvate. 2 ATP and 2 NADH molecules are yielded in this reaction. Moreover, it is divided into two phases, preparatory phase and payoff phase. In the preparatory phase, 2 ATP molecules are used, and in payoff phase, 4 ATP molecules are yielded.
