According to Lewis concept, a species that is able to accept a pair of electrons to form a coordinate bond is known as an acid. Lewis base is a species that can donate electron pairs to form coordinate bonds. Formation of coordinate between a donor and acceptor is considered as neutralization reaction, according to Lewis concept.
Amphoteric oxides can act as acids or bases, depending upon the other reactant present in the solution.
