Concept introduction: Thirty-one pairs of nerves that arise from the spinal cord are known as spinal nerves. The spinal nerve after exiting through the intervertebral foramen splits into two primary branches known as anterior and posterior rami. Anterior ramus forms the nerve plexus. The network of the interweaving anterior rami of spinal nerves is known as nerve plexus. Nerve plexus helps in the transmission of the signals from the spinal cord. It is divided into various types of cervical, brachial, lumbar, and sacral plexuses.
