To explain: The way in which posterior horns differ in their composition and function from both anterior horns and lateral horns.
Concept introduction: Gray matter is made of dendrites and soma of neurons and its function is processing center for sensory and motor inputs. The gray matter is H-shaped or butterfly-shaped and is present at the center of the spinal cord. The four anatomic locations of gray matter on either side of the spinal cord are: posterior horn, lateral horn, anterior horn, and gray commissure.
