To explain: Why it is necessary to immediately autoclave the transformed cells after the termination of the experiment?

Introduction: Transformation is a process of genetic alteration of a cell that occurs from the direct uptake and incorporation of genetic material from its environmental surroundings. The transformation is carried out through the cell membrane. In this process, the small fragments of the genomic DNA of the host cell have the ability to enter into the recipient cell and become incorporated into its genome.

The transformed cells are found to be deviated from their wild type counterparts. Such type of transformed cells is produced experimentally only for laboratory purposes. Transformations might serve as a vehicle for genetic exchange which could create pathogenic organisms. Such type of strains could cause deleterious effects on the environment and could lead to the emergence of new diseases.
