Concept Introduction:

Different types of microstructure are ferrite, pearlite, bainite & martensite which are formed after quenching. Quenching is the heat process in which rapid cooling of material takes place by using cooling fluids such as water, and oil. Quenching stops undesired low-temperature processes, that is, phase transformation quenching which is used to harden materials and is used by introducing martensite.
