The mechanism for the oxidation reaction that takes place in the conversion of dihydrolipoamide to lipoamide by the E3 subunit of pyruvate dehydrogenase complex should be drawn.
Concept introduction:
The pyruvate dehydrogenase complex consists of three complexes namely E1, E2, and E3. Pyruvate dehydrogenases are exclusively found in mitochondria. The formation of acetyl CoA in mitochondria results in the generation of dihydrolipoamide (a reduced form of lipoamide).
