Question
Chapter 12.11, Problem 2MQ
Summary Introduction
Plasmodium (protozoan) causes malaria transmitted by mosquitoes. The protozoan has evolved resistance to various traditional antimalarial drugs. Therefore, introduction of new antimalarial drugs is constantly warranted. Artemisinin is used to treat malaria. Morphine is a pain reliever (pain medication), grouped under opiate family, which is derived from various plant and animals. Morphine reduces the feeling of pain by acting on the central nervous system (CNS).
