Inventory Types:
Inventory at the local food chains store visited was of several types. Raw materials arriving at the local food store had been stored as per their requirements and product life.
Perishable goods are stored in cold storage or cool places. This helps to monitor inventory levels and keep a stock of those items if their lead time is long.
Prepared dough for the day and other food items that are kept ready for final preparation can be considered as work in process inventory and are stored for ready to use. This reduces the processing time after customer orders a product.
And some of the food items on the menu are kept fully prepared as per the average customer demand per day. This is the final product inventory ready to be served for the customer.
