Introduction:

Ultraviolet ray is an electromagnetic wave that has a very short wavelength and is invisible to naked eyes. It is possible to get sunburned even on cloudy days due to the presence of ultraviolet rays in the sun rays.

Light from the sun is the main source of ultraviolet radiation. On cloudy days, the clouds cover the sun rays and do reduce some ultraviolet rays but are not completely blocked. Ultraviolet rays or UV rays can penetrate through cloud and can cause damage to human skin like sunburn.

Conclusion:

Hence, sunburn can be caused by ultraviolet rays even on cloudy days.
