Introduction:
Visual information is processed by the rods and cone cells located in the retina. The sensitivity of rod cells is higher than cone cells to the light stimulus. The cone cells are responsible for color visualization and form a sharper image of the subject. The light absorbing pigment in the cone cells consists of a photopsin protein attached to retinene molecule.
