Explanation of Solution
The unit of measurement of standard deviation will be same as that of original measurements of the data. Standard deviation is the square root of the variance. If the original values are in inches, the standard deviation is also expressed in inches. Whereas variance is the average squared deviation from the mean, it will have the unit as square inches. If we took square root then it will be the unit of standard deviation and it is in inches.
