Concept explainers
To explain which of the graphing technique is best to compare the distribution SAT scores for the two schools A and B:
Answer to Problem 9PT3
(d) Two relative frequency histograms of A and B drawn on the same scale
Explanation of Solution
Given information:
Given two schools A and B with number of students and SAT scores.
School A has 400 students and School B has 2700 students.
Two compare the distribution of two schools A and B Histogram is the best graphical tool.
By plotting SAT scores on X-axis and number of Students A and Student B separately. There we can have 2 Histograms .But the thing is in Y-axis the number of students very much differ from two schools and it’s difficult to have the two histogram. Therefore as relative frequency in Y-axis is lies in the interval 0-1, the scales of the both schools are become common. This is very helpful to identify and comparison to know the distribution.
