Muscle contraction occurs when neuronal signals are received from the brain to increase tension and soon after contraction process muscles start to get relaxed. The amount of force produced when muscles contract is known as the muscle tension. There are various types of contractions and the type of contraction in which the tension rises, but the load does not move is an isometric contraction.
