(a) fatty acid
(b) saturated fatty acid
(c) unsaturated fatty acid
(d) triacylglycerol
(e) phosphoglyceride
Introduction:
A structure with a hydrocarbon chain and a carboxyl group at one terminal end is called as a fatty acid (FA). The fatty acids can either be saturated or unsaturated depending on the presence or absence of double bonds. The glycerol ester with three fatty acids is known as a triacylglycerol.
