Concept explainers
Introduction:
The different levels of the body organization are described below:
Chemical level:
The chemical levels of the organization include the atoms and the molecules, that combine together in an arranged manner to form a cell as well as all the body structures.
Cells:
The cells are the basic functional and structural unit of life. An organism can have either a single cell or multiple cells. If something lacks cellular organization, they cannot be considered as living. A cell is capable of performing all the functions essential for life.
Tissue:
The tissue is the group of cells performing similar functions and hasthe same structure. In a multicellular organism, they perform a particular role inthe maintenance of normal physiology.
Organ:
Many tissues together form organs. The organs are the cluster of tissues which perform a self-contained and self-vital function. Different tissues in the organs perform a different function, which is essential to carry out various physiological processes.
Organ system:
The organ system is the group of organs, which is involved in carrying out a specific physiological process. For example, the

Structure and function are closely related at the organ level only. b. Homeostasis is the condition of having a dynamic equilibrium of the internal environment. c. Positive feedback loops are triggered by a deviation from a homeostatic set point and are shut down when conditions return to the set point. d. The effects of negative feedback loops are amplified to create an escalating response. e. Cell-cell communication is required to coordinate the activities of the whole bodyarrow_forwardWhich of the following statements best describes homeostasis? a.
