Tactile feedback is an important component in the learning of motor skills such as dancing, sports, and physical rehabilitation. A suit with white dots recognized by a vision system to determine arm joint positions with millimetric precision was developed. This suit is worn by both teacher and student to prov ide position information. (Lieberman, 2007), If there is a difference betw een the teacher's positions and that of the student vibrational feedback is provided to the student through eight strategically placed vibrolactile actuators in the wrist and arm. This placement takes advantage of a sensory effect known as cutaneous rabbit that tricks the subject to feel uniformly spaced stimuli in places where the actuators are not present. These stimuli help the student adjust to correct the motion. In summary, the system consists of on instructor and a student having their movements followed by the vision system. Their movements are fed into a computer that finds the differences between their joint positions and provides proportional vibrational strength feedback to the student. Draw a block diagram describing the system design.

- Need help solving this problem. Please provide clear and concise steps.arrow_forwardVerification of Sampling Theorem Solution in Matlabarrow_forwardConventional float actuated device is used as a level measurement sensor, which consist of pulley and a pointer which move over a graduated scale. Let say you are asked to develop a controller-based float actuated system having a sensor for level measurement or may be more than one sensor is required for accurate level measurement, which sensor will you use and why? Draw the whole schematic showing the position of the sensor or sensors. Will pulley be part of your new digital system, if yes justify your answer, if no, then how you will develop a system without using pulley.arrow_forward
- Context The needle of a sewing machine makes a repetitive up and down motion which is described by the equation y(t)=Acos(wt) To choose the settings of the device that will ensure that the needle successfully pierces the textile, you are asked to model the speed in ? of the needle as a function of time. Constraints and information The parameter A represents the range of motion (in m);The parameter w represents the angular frequency. It tells us about the number of back and forth movements that the needle makes per second; The parameter w is given in rad/s, so your calculator absolutely must be in radians mode to do the calculations in this problem;Modelization Establish the model for the y velocity of the needle as a function of time and the parameters A and w. Then test your model by calculating the speed in y of the needle at the moment and with the given parameters: Moment: 4.1 s Amplitude: 0.012 m Angular frequency: 17.9 rad/sarrow_forwardUsing the following lines, let us create a virtual data concerning the joint torque (Nm) and angular velocity (RPM) of an imaginary actuator system: Kx = 29; Kn 200; dt 0.001; %sampling time 10; simulation time Ts ns Ts/dt +1; for i = 1:nS t(i) tau (i) = (i-1) *dt; time variable Kx*sin (2*pi*0.5*t (i)) + = 0.1*sin (2*pi*50*t (i)); dq (i) = Kn*cos (2*pi*0.5*t (i))*9.24; SOME CALCULATONS HERE end & THEN SOME OTHE CALCULATIONS HERE Calculate the average torque T_avg. Then referring the Harmonic Drive Catalogue, choose a gear model with a gear ratio of 1:30 in accordance with the T_avg value you calculated. Explain the rationale behind your choice.arrow_forwardDesign and develop a suitable processor-based Data Acquisition (DAQ) system and external hardware to interface, measure, display and store the responses from the selected sensors.arrow_forward
