Different types of computers:

  • There are different types of computers which are used apart from the mobile phones namely, Personal computer, Personal Mobile Device (PMD), Server, Warehouse scale computer, Supercomputer, Embedded computer and many others.
    • Personal computer is a computer system used by a single person at a time. It consists of hard ware components like motherboard, Central Processing unit (CPU), main memory and hard disk drive and software components like keyboard, mouse, scanner and many such.
    • PMD is a computer device which is used for collecting, storing and sharing the required data like images or text.
    • Server is a computer system used in solving the required problems and it is accessed through the network.
    • Warehouse scale computer is a computing system in which large number of processors forms to a heavy cluster.
    • Supercomputer is a computer system which includes large number of processors and has terabytes of memory.
    • Embedded computer is a computing system which can be executed on a single platform or its related applications and integrating them into a huge system.
