why is mcdonald’s a better to eat at than wendy’s for customers?
Expert Solution
Step 1

McDonald's is a fast food giant and a dominant player in the fast food industry with a huge customers base and serving approximately 69 to 70 million customers on daily basis as compared to its competitor Wendy's.

The reasons why customers prefers to eat at McDonald's rather than Wendy's restaurant could better been understood from the following points:-

1. Price comparison:

McDonald's - The prices are much cheaper when compared to its competitor Wendy.

Wendy's - Product Prices are slightly higher from McDonald's.

2. Variety of products:

McDonald's - It has a large variety of products when compared to Wendy for example french fries, salads, soft drinks, Chicken etc.

Wendy's - It also has a variety of snacks and meals but lesser in comparison to McDonald's.

3. Availability of Restaurants in nearby places:

McDonald's - Restaurants are easily available in nearby locations no matter where you go i.e. shopping, traveling, Colleges etc. Hence it saves the search cost of the customers.

Wendy's - Slightly harder to find restaurants.

4. Goodwill and Brand image:

McDonald's - It has won trust of several customers and apart from adhering to its corporate social responsibility it runs various charity events for example mc happy day which is an annual event organised every year by McDonald's where a certain percentage of that day sales go to charity.

Wendy's - As Wendy's also focuses on charity and donations but when compared to the giant McDonald's it is in development stage in the area of corporate social responsibility.
