The term "Cold War" was first used by George Orwell in 1945 Cold War was an ideological struggle that commenced after World War II between the two most important blocs: The United States and the Soviet Union. Unlike other wars, Cold War did not include direct military struggles between the two blocs and their respective allies. Thus, the war is in terms of economic rivalry, political turmoil, and espionage activities carried out by the US and the Soviet Union. It started in the year 1945 and continued till 1989.
