Launched in 2008, Apple's iShirt social media campaign is a wonderful example of how to use social media and user-generated material to further marketing objectives. The campaign was uncomplicated yet successful. The recognisable iPod emblem was placed on the front of a line of white t-shirts that Apple produced. A select set of influencers and celebrities were then given the shirts, and they were urged to wear them and share pictures of themselves wearing them online.
