Was genocide of the Plains Indians inevitable? Why or why not.
The Plaines Indians were the Native people of the Great Plains and Canadian Prairies. Before the Europeans, they lived on the Great plains for centuries, hunting and farming. The contact with the European cultures was disastrous for these native tribes. Thousands of natives were killed during the fight against the European powers, and the Old world epidemics killed several thousand. The treatment of the Natives was genocidal, which brought several tribes to extinction.
