Data Analysis Above is data collected from week 5 of ABA 632, which consists of the acquisition deck, which is the third week with deck 2. This is shown in Figures 1.1 and 1.2, where there are 7 data points collected showing the highest score from each of the 7 days that 5 trials each were done. Then in Figures 2.1 and 2.2 is the neutral deck which is a collection of all the previous definition decks from all my previous classes. On the graph, there are also 5 data points collected from 5 days where 3 trials were done and the best score of the trials was collected. The data is started on August 28, 2023, and then ends on September 3, 2023. For the acquisition deck, Figure 1.2 shows 2 more days with Acquisition Deck 2 data, to reach the goal, line of accel of 14. This will be the third week studying acquisition deck 2 and the goal was to achieve the goal accel of 14 by the end of the week. At the end of the week of September 3, 2023, I reached the accel goal line of 14 accel with the decel of 3. When I started off the beginning of the week of accel of 8. This makes the graph line for accel data upward trend. The level for acquisition accel ends on the high level since the final accel score was reach. There were not any signs of variability with the accel data since the score slowly increased daily with each date. For acquisition decel data the score have shown improvement from overall last week's hard score. When finishing the end of Deck 2 the final score was 3. There was a slight upward trend line, but the average score stayed between 2 to 4. Figure 2.1 and Figure 2.2 show the data for the neutral deck, which consists of all the deck’s definition cards since ABA 620. I was able to make progress from last week’s low scores I got back to my average of accel being in the 10 and 11 range. With last week's score you can see a slight upward trend line for accel date with the fluency graph. This leaves accel data at the
medium level and no variability in the scores. Then for the decel data, the score has a downward trend line with little variability this week. Study Approach Antecedent For SAFMEDS, my goal is to study for a minimum of an hour, and then split my study focus up by days when possible. On my acquisition days, I won’t work on the fluency deck so it will decrease my study time and help with one primary focus area. On weekends, I try to extend my studies if possible and then do most of my studying in the AM. When doing the trials, I also try to be in a new location for studying. Each trial is 30 seconds, then I write each of the scores down, where I study, the amount of time studied, and any factors affecting it, and then highlight the final score to input later. This week’s data is a little different due to adding the additional date added to complete the trials. Behavior For both the acquisition deck and mastery deck, I study for at least 30 minutes to 45 minutes and then, use a computer timer of 30 seconds to run the trials. All data is collected in the notebook for the week and the class. On the weekend dates, the time for studying was extended to 45 minutes. I was able to finish all my acquisition trials before 10 p.m. to make sure I wasn’t completing them late. Then on the weekend I was done with the trials before before 1pm which is good to have it done earlier than later from my past experience. Consequences
For this final week of deck 2, I was able to make it to the goal line, but it was very hard. I don’t think if I didn’t have the extra days of studying, I wouldn’t have been able to make the goal line. I was able to start my week off with an acquisition accel of 8 and then make it all the way to 14 which is usually difficult. Then also using my lunch time to complete the midterm so I could still use the night to have my study session. For decel, the scores went back to being lower than 4 when it came to the acquisition and fluency deck. So, I have managed to be able to make it back on track for my studying timeline moving into week 6. Adjustments The adjustments that were made this week are adding on the additional dates during the week studying deck 2 and having a full 7 days. Moving into the new week I have been looking into trying an intervention call time blocking. I will give myself time blocks to complete studying and work time, so I am not cramming a lot of tasks into one moment. Especially when I know I have been working with my executive function skills. I have now been working on intentional mornings so I can wake up earlier to hopefully have shorter late nights. Hopefully, this will help with finishing up the last 3 weeks of pushing through.
