1-3 JOURNAL 1 SOC 317 1-3 JOURNAL Southern New Hampshire University INTRODUCTION
1-3 JOURNAL 2 Newly added in--- Parenting has always been a driving and expanding role, formed by the society and culture in which it all exists. In the digital age that we are presently in, technology and social media have become the center of our lives, and they play a big part in how parents raise their children. Working towards understanding the influence of technology and social media on parenting, we can analyze the essentialsw while looking through the lenses of the three pertinent sociological perspectives, the conflict perspective, structural functionalism, and symbolic interactionism. Newly added in from ebook—If structural functionalis and conflict theory can be faulted for projecting an overly rosy view of family relations, confrlict theory may suffer from the reverse: an emphasis on opposition and power struggles to the exclusion of the many wats that family members truly love and care for each other. Obviously, that is going to continually impact parent’s parenting skills with their children especially in the home. However, technology has brought both disadvantages and advantages to the home. Even though, it does offer convenience to assess information and fresh opportunities for education, entertainment, and communication, it does present a whole new set of challenges related to maintaining a healthy family relationship during this digital age. Parents have had to find a balance that fully gives the benefits of technology while vindicating its potential drawbacks. REFERENCES Citation generator (no date) Cite This for Me, a Chegg service .
