 Briefly describe your field placement for your peers and what micro and macro practices currently exist. (2-3 sentences)  What are the possibilities for integrating micro-macro practice in your field placement? Describe at least two possibilities for integrating micro-macro practice and why you selected those possibilities. (2-3 sentences) My field placement is in a private non-profit care management organization that is part of the NJ Children’s System of Care and assists youth with complex needs (emotional/behavioral, intellectual/developmental and substance use). In my field placement I assist with various micro and macro practices such as agency policy review/implementation, connecting I/DD youth to services and resources, assisting with complex cases, and new employee training/development. One specific possibility for integrating micro practice in my field placement is working with the agency’s I/DD youth and families to assess current needs and connect them to services, resources, and community-based supports. A possibility for integrating macro practice in my field placement would be assisting in policy review, in which we discuss existing policies, changes that can be made, and new policies that can be generated to enhance the quality of services offered. Both possibilities are important because improving the personal experience of a client also depends on improving the collective experience of all agency clients. It is important to consider the connections between micro and macro practice in social work because the two inform each other, and by engaging in both micro and macro practices social workers can offer a higher quality of services and interventions.  How might you consider these connections between micro and macro practice in your approach to social work in the future? How can it inform your values and practices as a social worker? (2-3 sentences)
