1. Did you prefer feminist theory, family violence theory, or the integrative feminist model? Provide one reason why. After reviewing the main macro-oriented theories, the integrative model presented a much more holistic analysis of violence by incorporating both the feminist and family systems models. This ensured that the model focused on the aspect of power while also encompassing various forms of oppression, not just gender based. 2. Which theory presented in the PowerPoint did you think was the weakest? Why? After careful consideration, the subculture of violence theory has been labeled the weakest. It has been observed in my professional experience that this theory could have unintended consequences such as developing harmful stigmas against certain groups based on race, sex, class, etc. 3. List one reason why you think that the ecological model is a popular approach to explaining violence and/or violence prevention. The main reason why I believe the ecological model is such a popular approach to explaining violence is due to its similarities to the social work approach of a person in the environment. Both approaches involve observing the client in their environment to identify protective and risk factors.
