Running head: 1 Evidence-Based Practice Implementation-Anticipating Results Seprina Fulton Walden University Dr. Savage SOCW-6311 December 10 th , 2023
2 My agency or practice is a domestic violence shelter, that provides group counseling as well as individual counseling to all clients. The faculty is located in a private area of Jacksonville Fl, in a rural area. The faculty is staffed with licensed counselors and social workers. The conditions of the study used in the article were conducted in a different setting than the one at my field agency or practice setting. The study was conducted in a university setting, with a much larger number of participants than what is present in my practice setting. Additionally, the study was conducted on a much larger scale than what is typically seen at my practice setting. Therefore, the conditions of the study are much different than the ones at my field agency or practice setting. The differences in the conditions of the study and the conditions at my field agency or practice setting could have a significant impact on the successful implementation of the evidence-based practice. If the conditions of the study are different, it is likely that the results of the implementation in my practice setting will be different than the results of the study. The steps that would be required to implement the evidence-based practice in the field would be first to conduct of the needs of the clients to identify which evidence-based practices would be most effective in addressing ( Dudley, J. R. (2020). Factors that could support this step would include the availability of training and resources related to evidence-based practices, as well as the support of agency leadership. Factors that could limit or hinder this step would include insufficient resources and/or lack of training related to evidence-based practices. To mitigate these factors, I would seek out additional resources and training opportunities, as well as seek out feedback and support from colleagues and agency leaders ( Dudley, J. R. (2020). Secondly, I would develop a plan to implement the evidence-based practices. This would involve creating a detailed plan outlining the specific procedures, protocols, and resources that
3 would be necessary to implement the evidence-based practices. Factors that could support this step would include the availability of resources and support from agency leaders. Factors that could limit or hinder this step would include lack of knowledge related to how to implement the evidence-based practice, as well as inadequate resources. To mitigate these factors, I would seek out additional resources and training opportunities, as well as seek out feedback and support from colleagues and agency leaders. Thirdly, Educate staff and clients on the evidence-based practices. This would involve providing both staff and clients with information related to the evidence-based practices and how they can be used to improve the outcomes of clients. Factors that could support this step would include the availability of training and resources related to evidence-based practices, as well as the support of agency leadership. Factors that could limit or hinder this step would include lack of knowledge related to the evidence-based practices and/or lack of resources. To mitigate these factors, I would seek out additional resources and training opportunities, as well as seek out feedback and support from colleagues and agency leaders. Based on the steps outlined above, I anticipate that the implementation of the evidence- based practice in my field agency or practice setting will lead to improved outcomes for clients. However, it is important to note that the results may be different from the results of the research article due to the differences in the conditions of the study and the conditions of my agency. Additionally, the impact of the evidence-based practice may be different in my agency due to the demographic differences between the populations being served.
