2 Self-Observation Self-Observation   With self-observation, I am very critical of myself. I am the first to point out my flaws. I grew up in a broken home with an absent father and a practically absent mother. We never had money, so we were forced to live in many multicultural neighborhoods. We never had the money to live in the best places.   Ethical-Behavior   From what I understand, ethical behavior can be identified in both individual relationships and work relationships. It can also apply to corporate and entities. It also evaluates to moral implications of actions being taken on each mentioned context. The schools I attended had only a handful of white kids and I was bullied and beat up every day because of my skin color. Being ethical played a big role when I was growing up. An ethical behavior is essential for society to function properly. People who act unethically will normally lose other people’s confidence and their unethical behavior should be punished by law. Ethical-Relationships   I have started relationships with co-workers which was very unethical, because when that relationship turned sour there was always tension around the workplace. Following my dreams of being a social worker I have to be multi-culturally aware of everything and everyone. I have to
3 learn to be aware of my own multicultural heritage to become aware of the multicultural heritage of others as well to demonstrate comfort with cultural differences. Cultural awareness is important because it allows us to see and respect other perspectives and to appreciate the inherit value of people who differ from we are. It leads to better relationships, healthier work environments, and a stronger more compassionate society. Cultural awareness involves learning about cultures different from your own.                                                                             Self-Observation   It is about being respectful about these differences, Natalie Page ED. D., chief diversity officer at St. Xavier University in Chicago. “It is about being sensitive to similarities and differences that can exist between different cultures and using this sensitivity to effectively communicate without prejudice and racism,” she explains. When you strive to become more culturally aware, you gain knowledge and information about different cultures, which leads to greater cultural competence, says Dr. Page.                                                                           Conclusion            My entire life I have been taught to be multi-culturally aware of others and their differences and it has made me the better person I am today. It is sometimes a struggle to become multicultural aware when there is so much hatred in the world, but if you take the time to learn about your culture and the culture of others the world could be a better place to live.
