2 Traditional And Nontraditional Families This term sociology I will be exploring the traditional and non traditional families. I chose this topic because I grew up in a non traditional family and am currently raising my children in a non traditional setting. My grandmother raised me which I am so grateful for. I am a mother of two boys raising them with my fiance who isn't their father. This topic matters sociologically because in today's society non traditional families are more common. Traditional families relate to social interactions and relationships that people share, because of traditional relationships being so common a lot of the ways people are raised are relatable. Some of the same values are instilled in people in non-traditional families. and some values from traditional families are similar to others in traditional families. I feel the conflict theory relates more to this topic because society belittles non traditional families even though they are more common.
