2 Traditional And Nontraditional Families Sociological concepts of culture relate to families because in order to understand the culture you have to understand that all families have things in common. But also all families have their own unique family culture that they have created throughout generations. The definition of culture is the same in every family but can look different such as the languages they speak, clothing, and food they eat. These are the things we learn from people we encounter. Especially in non- traditional families, sometimes we marry or have children outside of our race so we learn the culture and develop it as our own so that we can pass it on to our children or so that we can fit in with our significant other and their family. My topic in relation to socialization is how we learn to communicate with others. The things that define traditional families are the social norms like gender roles, A man and a wife being married. Non traditional families are considered better for the tolerance of society, these families are considered non traditional but they teach so much tolerance in the world and acceptance. Society and social interaction relate to my topic because traditional families are considered the social norm. They usually are where you would expect a child to be raised to be a scholar and to be able to maneuver through society without poverty. No traditional families have been looked at as more of what is actually happening in the world where kids are coming from all different backgrounds and are becoming entrepreneurs and developing great friendships. Looking through a sociological lens, the impact of broken homes or societies on deviant behavior can be attributed to the circumstances surrounding parental divorce and the subsequent dissolution of their relationship. Consequently, a child may exhibit deviant behavior as a result of the upbringing they experience in the absence of one parent. Additionally, a single parent may lack the time to monitor the child's behavior effectively, potentially leading to the
3 development of behaviors that go against societal norms. In traditional families society deems that the children in these families will turn out to be the complete opposite. Have you ever turned on the tv and watched a trial and saw that a child came from a single mom home and never knew their father and all of the psychological problems the child has which are no excuse for the behavior but it could have been a tributing factor.
