skills Logic Models are used in designing a new program. The logic model follows three stages, planning, implementation, and outcomes, that links problems, interventions, and outcomes as a whole (Dudley, 2020). The logic model assesses the problem and the cause of the problem. The logic model above displays at-risk youth in residential treatment facilities, with the identified problem of lack of resources to promote independence in the transition to adulthood. Due to lack of resources, they often become homeless, commit violent crimes, or experience untimely deaths. These at-risk teens are exposed to violence, domestic violence, substance abuse, theft, burglary, gang activity, and other violent crimes. Burnside & Gaylord-Harden (2019) support this by noting that youth in disadvantaged and high-crime neighborhoods are more likely to be exposed to violence or re-victimization. To assist them have a successful transition to adulthood, this logic model suggests they are in need of independent living skills to increase independence. Poverty, lack of family support, trauma, substance abuse, and lack of interest are underlying problem presented in the logic model. SUD treatment, Therapy, support groups, job training, and housing assistance are inventions that could work to alleviate the problem. Burnside, A. N., & Gaylord-Harden, N. K. Oxford University Press. Hi Nya, Thanks for sharing this week. Your Logic Model outlined your problem well. Your LM was linked across the table well to connect each piece. One strength of your logic model is that it highlights risk factors that have influence. Dudley (202) explains how these influences are important in establishing a logic model. One potential weakness that may require clarification is the first need “.. other child appointments”. I would want to know how this need connects specifically to homelessness. One outcome for your LM could be decreased substance use through your intervention of attending meetings. Dudley, J. R. (2020).  Social work evaluation: Enhancing what we do  (3rd ed.). Oxford University Press. Respond  to  at least two  colleagues by: Offering respectful feedback on their logic model as if you were a member of their work group. o Identify strengths and potential weaknesses in the assumptions or areas that may require additional information or clarification.
Providing substantial information to assist your colleagues’ efforts such as: o Information to support their understanding of the problems and needs in this population. o Suggestions related to intervention activities and potential outcomes. Hi Jacquetta, Thanks for sharing this week. Your logic model connects the problems and needs. Dudley (2020), suggest identification of needs helps narrow the conditions and actions to address the focus of the problem. One strength of your logic model is the connection to the problem and outcome. One potential weakness of your logic model is under the need’s column. The need, “not being able to afford rent due to low-paying jobs” is an underlying cause of needing affordable housing and assistance will bill pay. One outcome I would change is “The community health center is a direct resource to receive help” to make the outcome more practice specific. I would possibly change it to read “Client’s have access to resources”. Dudley, J. R. (2020).  Social work evaluation: Enhancing what we do  (3rd ed.). Oxford University Press.
