Spence November 1, 2023 CQ Relevance At the end of my coursework with Liberty University, I will be testing to become a licensed Social Worker. CQ is extremely relevant in this career field, as I will be serving a multitude of cultures on a daily basis. Completing this assessment and this course will be critical in aiding my ability to understand, learn from and contribute to the variety of cultures that surround me. My Cultural Intelligence Assessment Results My CQ Drive score was 96. I agree with my score in this part, showing that I am motivated to learn and adapt to new or diverse cultural surroundings, and shows that I am confident in my ability to adapt. My CQ Knowledge score was 37. This low score does not surprise me, as I currently do not have much knowledge of different cultures and their norms. This is something I am looking forward to learning. My CQ Strategy score was 78. Not so surprisingly, I scored the same in most realms of this topic, but only normal in the planning phase. In my everyday life, I strategically plan out everything that I possibly can, to help predict possible outcomes and needs. Lastly, my CQ Action score was 80. This category combines my

GLST 220 ability to utilize all four traits together and put them to action. I am just below the considered norm for this category, but I do believe with my growing understanding gained from within this course and real-life experiences, I can grow profoundly on this assessment in the future. Growing My Cultural Intelligence I plan to utilize this course to learn to understand different cultures to the best of my abilities. In the future, I hope to work with the public a great deal, and in order to do my best work, I need to understand cultures and traditions that are not my own. Growing further from my completion of this course, I hope to be able to utilize my current work to also learn some about cultures that are new to me and be able to help them to the best of my abilities from that newfound knowledge. God’s and the Global Story It is critical to utilize the CQ I presently have, although minimal, to continue to learn and adapt to new cultures and traditions around me. I believe that my willingness to learn these things will help me grow into a better person and ultimately shape me into a wonderful social worker in the future. Learning about new cultures and traditions will help me to gain respect for others and their lives, as well as serving God by helping people around me to the best of my abilities at all times.
