Zach Mendiola Dr. Murat Hancer HFT 3505 16 April 2023 Mimic Social Analysis Report 12 1. What is your final ranking? Looking back on all your work, what do you think is the biggest key to success in the simulation and why? (4pts) My final ranking was 30. I think the biggest key to my success in the simulation was creating social media posts that were relatable and paired with high quality content that the audience would be engaged in. I was very selective with the influencers I chose, primarily because allocating the budget to schedule one would take up a big part of the portion and would then be left to create the other posts as an afterthought. Instead, I used them as aid to reach wider audiences and worked with smaller influencers to create a more personal and intimate connection to the brand. I allocated a good amount of money in the paid social posts, making sure that the production and reach of the ads were getting good traction. My focus on creating posts in the more dominant social media platforms, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram allowed me to maintain more refined posts instead of mass posting daily with the same content throughout the apps. YouTube and Twitter also showed some signs that were beneficial, though, and made a point to not rely on it too much in advertising the brand.
2. If you were to repeat the simulation again, what would you do differently? Please explain. (3pts) I would have probably made a bigger emphasis on trying to create more engaging ads on YouTube as it would easily generate a high amount of views depending on the quality of the advertisement. Considering that the paid social posts ran throughout the week, I would make more posts in that regard with the videos through the dominant apps that promote sponsored ads. Since I generated a fair amount of success from the organic posts, I would try to take a different approach with prioritizing scheduling some influencers. Probably also consider varying influencers who were more popular in certain apps that I was not creating content in. 3. What is the most important thing you have learned from the simulation about social media marketing? (3pts) The most important thing I learned from the simulation about social media marketing is that relatability and wit is a great way to generate engagement with the audience, however, it must be balanced with a good sense of professionalism to establish the brand as something serious. High quality content is enough to capture the attention of viewers, but it must be with a purpose. Focusing on the target audience, being selective with the content, scheduling when the posts would go up at certain times can create a small event on its own while making the brand bigger. It’s very important to know your audience, regardless of what you’re selling, I learned that it’s essential to provide a sense of authenticity and belief in your product through your posts.
