Question 27 is worth up to TWENTY points: 27) Explain in your own words within at least a paragraph what personal experience, personal milestone, and / or societal event impacted most your first personal awareness of being socialized within your family and / or wider society: Growing up, dealing with severe ADHD presented numerous challenges, impacting my self-awareness and social interactions. It wasn't until I reached the age of 24, a mere five years ago, that a significant breakthrough in personal awareness occurred. This momentous realization took place during my routine commute home from work. My lifestyle then revolved around a cycle of working and partying, predominantly leaning towards the demands of my job in the service industry. Engaging with a diverse range of people, many of whom were significantly older than me, provided invaluable insights. Hearing the stories of individuals who, despite being decades my senior, were still grappling with the challenges of the service industry served as a wake-up call. Their narratives, eerily echoing aspects of my own life, made me confront the possibility of perpetuating this cycle indefinitely. I became acutely aware of the potential outcomes - isolation from family, laboring away as a server with little to no career prospects, and the uncertainty of daily income. This realization prompted a profound shift in perspective. At that juncture, I decided to open my eyes to every aspect of my life, recognizing the need for significant changes to break free from the patterns that could otherwise define my future.
