What is pervasive in families around the world? Violence is pervasive in families around the world.
2. Where do family violence occurs? Family violence occurs in all ethnic groups, all social classes, and in heterosexual and same-sex couples. 3. How do many types of batterers view their partners? Many types of batterers view their partners as property. 4. What is one of the least researched types of family violence? Elder abuse is one of the least researched types of family violence. 5. Give three reasons why seniors may not report abuse. Most seniors do not report abuse because they do not recognize they are being abused, they are reluctant to report abuse out of shame, or fear of the abuser. 6. Why do some battered women stay with their batterers? Some battered women stay with batterers out of fear for their pets’ safety . 7. What is a common dynamic of intimate partner violence? Intimate partner violence can occur in any type of relationship, gay, straight, married, or cohabiting. 8. What is intimate terrorism? The pit bull batterer reacts to conflict with violence but usually feels guilty and apologizes; can respond well to treatment and often loves their partners greatly. 12. 20. How are human perpetrators like animal perpetrators? Give your perspective. Your perspective must make sense based on research for a score. Respond with a a paragraph containing five sentences. Human perpetrators are like animal perpetrators because they both do harmful or immoral act to people or animals. In this chapter (chapter 11) on pages 386-387 the books even discusses and described how some people and animals are alike. There are even some different types of batterers named after animals like cobras and pit bulls. The same descriptions and characteristics of those animals can describe and characterizes people. For example, Cobras battered people tend to be cold, callous, and calculating in their violence and the same goes for the actual animal (Cobra).
