Jeudi 1 Smayline Jeudi Professor Pelosi ENC1101-7 April 07, 2023 Does Abortion Violate Rights The issue of abortion is contentious and emotive, and it raises issues of morality, individual rights, and reproductive health (Walker-Werth, 13). In addition, the abortion debate has important social, ethical, and political ramifications, which makes it a subject of interest and concern for a lot of people. While some argue that women have the right to make choices about their reproductive health, others believe that abortion violates the rights of the unborn fetus. This debate impacts women's health and access to contraceptives and raises ramification questions about personal freedom. One of the most significant ramifications of the abortion debate is the impact it has on women's health and access to contraceptives (Walker-Werth, 13). Many women who seek abortions do so for personal safety, security, or well-being concerns. “Due to medical issues, some women might not be able to carry a pregnancy to term or might risk harm if they do,” according to Walker-Werth. In these situations, it is essential to have access to safe and legal abortions in order to safeguard women's health and wellbeing. Another important ramification of the abortion debate is its impact on personal freedom and autonomy (Walker-Werth, 13). According to Walker-Werth, “women have the right to make choices regarding their reproductive health and should not be restricted by laws that impede their
Jeudi 2 ability to do so.” However, opponents argue that abortion violates the rights of the unborn fetus, and the government has a role to play in regulating this issue. In conclusion, the topic of abortion is complicated and presents significant problems regarding personal freedom, reproductive health, and the function of the government in these areas. Although there are passionate arguments on both sides of the issue, it is crucial to understand that this is a profoundly personal and frequently challenging choice for individuals to make. In the end, it is up to each person to make decisions on their own reproductive health in accordance with the law, after consulting with medical professionals. By exploring the multiple ramifications of the abortion debate, we can gain a deeper understanding of the complex issues at stake and work towards finding solutions that respect individual rights and promote women's health and wellbeing.
