Case Study #1 – Project Proposal Globalization of Fashion Abstract The fashion industry has witnessed substantial changes since the start of the globalization movement. Fashion and globalization are closely related to one another. The spread of fashion from one nation to the rest of the world has been greatly aided by globalization. Fashion has been very important since it increases people's self-confidence. People that have good fashion sense tend to be optimistic and open-minded. The fashion trend that is popular in America will also be well-liked in other nations since globalization has shrunk the world so that individuals can easily utilize and access social media and other forms of free trade to learn about fashion. Introduction The globalization process has had a considerable influence on the fashion business. One of its most remarkable results is undoubtedly the industry's explosive growth (Beatty, 2015). The fashion business is now more receptive to a wide range of new trends, influences, and production techniques thanks to globalization. As a result, people may now more easily access global fashion trends. Thus, the transmission of fashion trends as well as the production of apparel have been impacted by globalization. Although there are numerous sides to the relationship between globalization and fashion, not all of them are positive (Ledezma, 2017). In this proposal, I will examine the evolution of fast fashion and its effects on the fashion industry as a result of globalization.
Research Objectives i.) Examine the historical background of globalization and make connections between the fashion industry and the industrial revolutions ii.) Analyze the connection between the expansion of consumer fashion patterns and the world's economic environment. iii.) Examine the connection between the growth of global technology and equipment and the diversity of fashion designs. Short bio My name is Qi Si and I am a senior student majoring in Fashion Merchandising. Due to my dual residence in China and the United States, I have had the opportunity to encounter many different cultural ranges. I interacted with a variety of people while working as a fashion merchandising assistant at a fashion and design company, including millennials residing in urban areas. However, I am pursuing my education in the United States, where I am able to engage with and learn from a diverse set of people.
