Elder Christofferson Life Elder Christofferson's life is a great example to me of how I can demonstrate faith, service, and humility. His dedication to gaining his testimony stands out. When he was a young man, he wanted his spiritual confirmation. This is a great example for all of us about how we can show a deep desire to connect with the divine. Even though at first, he was filled with disappointment in this experience, it taught him a valuable lesson about patience. One that we all can learn about when we are seeking spiritual experiences. His eventual confirmation while reading the Book of Mormon at home taught him that spiritual witnesses can come anywhere and not just from sacred or historical sites. His example of his life in having a close-knit family laid the foundation for his life. Moving introduced him to a different environment where he was the only member of a school belonging to the Church. I love how this teaches us that when we are dealing with different situations, we can strengthen our testimony and understand the importance of our faith and family. That we are not alone like we might think at first, that there is always someone there reaching us for us. Word Count: 204 Elder Christofferson Testimony I love Elder Christofferson's testimony about the sacred grove and his deep desire for spiritual confirmation. Even though he felt disappointed when no immediate answer came, he received a powerful witness through the Holy Ghost while reading the scriptures at home. His testimony about how we can receive answers to our questions at any point in time is great. This experience taught him and can teach all of us that spiritual confirmation can come anywhere and that the accessibility of guidance will come to all who sincerely seek it. His testimony about the importance of personal revelation and the role of the Holy Spirit in confirming truth to individuals is inspiring. When he was a youth, he didn’t know he would be an apostle, but he did know that he could receive the revelation for himself, and he trusted that the lord would provide that. His faith in this shows me that we all can have this no matter what we are going through or even our status in the church. We are all entitled to this and when we seek it with faith God will provide. Word Count: 187 Elder Andersen Life What stood out to me is that as a young man, Elder Andersen faced tests to his beliefs that strengthened his testimony. That is how many of our youth go through this daily life and we all have this struggle even as adults. Elder Andersens shows us that despite being only 16 years old, he could rely on the power of the Lord to guide him through explaining his faith to others. This teaches me that there is divine guidance in sharing our beliefs with others even though they might not see eye to eye with us.
Elder Andersen learning about the importance of prayer and the Lord's responsiveness to sincere requests at a young age is inspiring. His experiences on the farm in his youth instilled in him the value of hard work, determination, and seeking divine guidance in all aspects of life. This carried throughout his life and shows me that when we learn young, we teach our youth with correct principles, they will have a testimony of the Savior, church, and themselves. Word Count: 175 Elder Andersen Testimony Elder Andersen's testimony about standing in a place of sacredness is vital for all of us and shows us all the importance of this. When we do this, we can access the Holy Ghost with reverence and be open to his testaments. When reading this it reminds me of how I need to take this direction better and do it more often. Not just doing it because we “need” to but doing it because I want to. His testimony about the processes of coming to know God and Christ's teachings is an important thing that we all should be doing daily. The testimony about how we need to prioritize spiritual truths over worldly distractions is something that I feel all need to do more often. That when we exercise the principle of self-denial and take up the cross to follow Christ, we will be blessed with more than we could ever imagine. Word Count: 152
