In ancient times Jesus Christ established the organization of the church, being first the prophet, along with the
apostles to whom he gave his authority as we are mentioned in 3 Nephi 12, where Jesus Christ when he came to the
Americas also called 12 disciples. to whom he gave his authority to be able to lead his church in the Americas, in the
same way, he gave his authority to Peter and the other apostles to be able to lead his church while he was no longer
there, thanks to the priesthood they could continue receiving revelation for this, In addition to being able to act with
the authority of God so that in this way the things that are done on earth can be approved in heaven and recorded,
all this was lost as the apostles were persecuted when the restoration of the gospel occurred. established this
authority as we are mentioned in D&C 20 where we are told that Joseph Smith was called to be an apostle of Jesus
Christ and the new prophet where we are also mentioned that he was given the authority, also in D&C 81 we are
mentioned as Frederick Williams He was called as a counselor to Joseph Smith and in the same way he was given the
priesthood to be able to act by the Prophet Joseph Smith and they would receive revelation to be able to lead the
church.
Word Count: 239 4. Synthesis: Personal Relevance and Application to the Real World
There are many serious challenges people encounter on a daily basis that are consequences
of living in a fallen world. The gospel truths taught in the Articles of Faith have tremendous power to help people find answers, rise above problems, or simply feel God's love and concern for them again.
Each week you will choose an issue (below) and think deeply about how the truths in that week’s Article of Faith can offer hope to those who are experiencing the problem. If you have another issue that particularly interests you, then choose your own:
abortion
abuse/bullying
addiction
depression
divorce
domestic violence
energy/environmental issues
violence
gambling
genocide
homosexuality
international terrorism
materialism
natural disasters
pornography
unemployment
poverty
racial strife/hatred
religious intolerance/persecution
threats to religious liberty
same-sex marriage
suicide
Scenario: Imagine you are speaking to someone who has experienced or has concerns about
the issue you have chosen. What would you share from the doctrine and fundamental truths that you have studied this past week to help that person? Include why you think these truths and doctrine are helpful and what they have meant to you. Be encouraging with the truths you know.
Write a response in at least 300-450 words
and list your word count at the end of your response.
5.
The world problem/issue I chose this week is:
Religious intolerance
Response: The issue I chose to address this week is religious intolerance, something that has affected all of us throughout
history around the world. We must remember that in ancient times, Jesus Christ established the organization of the
church, delegating authority to his apostles, as mentioned in 3 Nephi 12. This pattern was repeated when, according
to the scriptures, Jesus Christ arrived in the Americas and called 12 disciples, giving them the authority to lead their
church in that region. However, this authority was lost as the apostles were persecuted.
This led to many people suffering because Satan used this intolerance to persecute those who wanted to know about
God, so the restoration of the gospel, as told in the scriptures, took place with the call of Joseph Smith as an apostle.
and prophet, with divine authority restored and allowing this intolerance to be seen from another perspective. In
D&C 20 it is stated that Joseph Smith was called by Jesus Christ to restore the church to the earth. Additionally, D&C
81 mentions Frederick Williams, called as a counselor to Joseph Smith, who also received the priesthood to act under
the authority of the prophet and receive revelation to guide the church, which allowed us to realize that the sine
wants Each of us has our own free will, which is why we were given through revelation the opportunity to defend
religious freedom as one of our articles of Faith. Also, the lack of understanding and respect for different religions
has led to discrimination. and exclusion, so currently, it is very important to support interreligious dialogue and
promote education about the diversity of beliefs.
We need to promote the idea that, as in the teachings of Jesus Christ, peaceful coexistence and respect are
fundamental. Divine authority, restored according to scripture, supports the importance of working together in a
world where actions through God's authority are approved in heaven.
