2.
Article of Faith
Please identify the Article of Faith studied this week
Response: Article of Faith #4
“We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
3.
Explanation of Key Events and
Scriptures
Demonstrate your comprehension of fundamental truths of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and your ability to use the scriptures to teach them. Be sure to include specific scripture references from the assigned readings
Scenario: Imagine you have been asked by a family member or friend to share what you believe about the truths and events you studied this week. Share in your own words several
insights as though you are really trying to teach someone. Include at least three scripture references to support the truths you teach (you may reference them, but there is no need to quote them). Share your testimony as you would when teaching someone. Your response will be evaluated by the following criteria:
1.
200–300 words in length
(please include your word count at the bottom of the section).
2.
Include at least 3 scripture references
.
Response: It is very important that we can in this life fulfill the covenants of the gospel but before fulfilling these
covenants we must make sure that we comply with the principles of faith and repentance, in Alma chapter 32 Verse
21 they explain to us that faith is the belief in things that we cannot see or we cannot have a perfect knowledge of
but we still have hope that they are true, but our faith must lead us to act as we share in 2 NEPHI 31 in verse 11
where they invite us to regret and be baptized and the father will bless us after being purified through baptism with
the gift of the holy spirit as indicated to us in acts chapter 2 verse 38, but I really like that the heavenly father has
established for us that the way in which we receive the holy spirit is through the laying on of hand, since it must be
through the means of those who have the authority to do so, I know that these principles and ordinances are
necessary for us to obtain salvation and be able to live with our heavenly father throughout the world. eternity. Even
our Savior had to meet these requirements where he did not need it to forgive his sins since he did not have it but to
give us an example of how he follows God's commandments.
Word Count:237 4. Synthesis: Personal Relevance and Application to the Real World
There are many serious challenges people encounter on a daily basis that are consequences
of living in a fallen world. The gospel truths taught in the Articles of Faith have tremendous power to help people find answers, rise above problems, or simply feel God's love and concern for them again.
Each week you will choose an issue (below) and think deeply about how the truths in that week’s Article of Faith can offer hope to those who are experiencing the problem. If you have another issue that particularly interests you, then choose your own:
abortion
abuse/bullying
addiction
depression
divorce
domestic violence
energy/environmental issues
violence
gambling
genocide
homosexuality
international terrorism
materialism
natural disasters
pornography
unemployment
poverty
racial strife/hatred
religious intolerance/persecution
threats to religious liberty
same-sex marriage
suicide
Scenario: Imagine you are speaking to someone who has experienced or has concerns about
the issue you have chosen. What would you share from the doctrine and fundamental truths that you have studied this past week to help that person? Include why you think these truths and doctrine are helpful and what they have meant to you. Be encouraging with the truths you know.
Write a response in at least 300-450 words
and list your word count at the end of your response.
5.
The world problem/issue I chose this week is:
Response: Faith as described in Alma 32:21, being hope in what we cannot see, should be your beacon of light in
these moments of difficulty that you are having where it seems that everything is darkness, so you must have Faith in
May the Savior and God help you overcome this problem you are facing since this is the first thing you need to
overcome this addiction; Repentance makes us see that we must make a change of direction in our actions, so you
can seek professional help to overcome these problems and in this way, you can establish a recovery program and
commit to following it to overcome it. Baptism helps us to be purified from what we have done in our lives. If you
have not yet been baptized, this will help you to see yourself as someone pure and worthy of living with God. If you
have already done so through the Sacrament, you can do it again. Feeling clean and pure, in addition to feeling this
way, helps us to be ready to receive the company of the Holy Ghost who plays an extremely important role in our
life, especially in your recovery time since it will give you comfort and strength to move forward. and to endure those
thoughts that you may have that invite you to fall into addiction again. You must remember that the Savior is always
with you and that he knows how you feel, and he wants you to change your life for the better and help you to
achieve eternal life. It is not an easy or simple process, and in the same way, you may fall along the way, but you
must get up and put the same principles into practice and in the end, you will be able to overcome this problem that
you currently face. Word Count:308
