Gospel Essentials
Our worldview is what allows us to see the world in a way that concurs with our values and beliefs which impact our everyday lives, in the ways we think and behave. This essay will specifically be about the Christian worldview which includes discussing the Nature of God, Nature of Humanity, Nature of Jesus, Restoration, Christian foundation, and implications of the Christian worldview. Gospel Essential Beliefs
Nature of God
Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth”. God is the creator and ruler of all that exists, while he lives within the world but is also greater than us. The trinity holds a lot of value in the Christian worldview; Christians believe in one God that exists in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit create a great balance of unity, diversity, and equality. The trinity is unified in a way that allows all three persons to work together for the same goal, creating the world and bringing people closer to God.
While the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are different in their ways, no person is greater than one another; they are all equal. The beginning of wisdom states, “he is unchanging, eternal, all-
powerful, all-knowing, and all-present. God is good, loving, just, jealous, faithful, and holy” (Ross, 2006). These characteristics show us that God is omnipotent; he is the end all be all but also is a personal God that wants a relationship with us. Genesis 1-2 explains how God created the earth, but it was empty, and darkness covered the surfaces as the spirit of God was there. Then in Genesis 3, God said, “Let there be light” and then came light. He created the world out of nothing, God said, “let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water” and there was because God said there would be. 2
Nature of Humanity
Genesis 1:26 says, “let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness” being created in God’s image shows the roles and relationship God has with humanity. God created us to have a relationship with him and to live our lives through him physically and spiritually. Since God created us in His image, not in a way we resemble the way he looks; but so, we live our lives the way that Jesus would. We all want to have a purpose in the world whether that is through religion
or not. Christians feel the most purpose when having a relationship with God and doing what he has called them to do. We as people cannot bear the weight of the world on our own and God has
claimed that we do not have to. Living a life without God does not allow a person to transform, redeem, or save themselves; this is only possible if we put God at the center of our lives. God does not intend for us to sin; sin starts as a temptation from the devil which leads humans to live and think worldly rather than Godly. Sin also does not allow for humans to flourish which is reaching their fullest potential. Gentry claims, “human flourishing will happen when humanity follows God's plan and pattern in every area of life” (2010). The Christian worldview believes that reaching our fullest potential comes from what God has called us to do. Nature of Jesus
Hebrews 1:3 says, “the son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat at the right hand of our majesty”. This scripture provides us with evidence that Jesus Christ is God and holds God’s absolute power and authority. Jesus Christ our Savior had conquered all sin and death so that we did not have to “it was Jesus’s very human experience of temptation that made him a true savior” (Evans, 2017). God gave up his one and only son; Jesus 3

to die on the cross for our sins, Jesus was then resurrected, came back to life after death, so we could have everlasting love and life with God. Restoration
Restoration in the Bible means to receive back more than what has been lost, the final state is better than the original condition. God continues to bless us for our faith by giving us more than we had before. Jeremiah 30:17 says “I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares your Lord” meaning if people declare God as Lord, he will save them and restore them in his image. Redemption is the act of being saved from sin, Jesus does what we cannot do for ourselves, we must repent which means turning away from sin and turning towards
God so we can be redeemed. Jesus shows us grace, undeserved kindness, and unconditional love without us having to do anything, he loves us no matter how far we might stray; his love remains
the same. Christians must have trust and faith in God because has never and will never fail us. John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirt, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring your remembrance all that I said to you” The Holy Spirit reveals God’s promises to us through the Bible. Christian Foundations
Creation is what happens first, and it was good. Before anything it was God. God is powerful. God is wise. God is good. Go is all-powerful because he knows every outcome. God is
wise because he knows every outcome. God is good because we can trust him always. Then man was purposely created for a purpose in the image of God. Fall came next and it was bad. Adam and Eve were told not to eat the fruit from the tree, but they did anyway which is when the fall of
humanity started. People began to have doubts about God’s word and believed people could trust
themselves what is good and right on their own. The result of the fall was sin and people were 4
filled with sin and shame. Redemption came next as God sent his people a redeemer, Jesus Christ
after dying on the cross-proving hope that all who believed in him would have eternal life. Lastly
came restoration which was perfect. This is the new creation and goes back to the first creation but can no longer be corrupted with sin. Analysis of the Implications of the Christian Worldview
Most people whether they are religious or not want some type of purpose on earth. The Christian worldview believes that through God, he gives us purpose. If we glorify God, we can enjoy him forever. Psalm 57:2 says, “I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose
for me” when we start to act in ways that fulfill God’s purpose, we will experience the joy of the Lord (Orr, 2020). Atheism and Christianity are very different because the Atheistic worldview does not there is a God, and the Christian worldview believes in one God. The Christian worldview is built on having a personal relationship with God and being able to see the good grace of God throughout the Bible. The Christian worldview has some troubling aspects because the Bible can be hard to understand. Throughout times people have come up with teachings that are different because everyone interprets the Bible differently. Also, it could get confusing reading the Bible because there are many people and places which could lead to people not being
able to navigate who is who, all the places, and the people involved in the teachings of Jesus Conclusion
How we see the world is different from other people, primarily from our worldview. We see things differently because of what we have learned, our beliefs, values, and how we were raised. Even within many Christians, we can see differences in their own beliefs. Even for people
who might not be religious or believe in God, it is important that we are open to learning about different religions and potentially start our own journey with Jesus as he has saved many people. 5
The Christian worldview is best understood by knowing the Nature of God, Nature of Humanity, Nature of Jesus, and the Creation-Fall-Redemption-Restoration as well as understanding the differences from other beliefs and even some of the difficulties that the Christian worldview has. 6
