Passage: Acts 19:11-22
A.
How does this passage from Acts fit within the metanarrative of the Bible? State what type of story you believe this to be (creation, fall, redemption, or new creation) and explain why you believe this to be so? Your explanation should be 1 paragraph (150-300 words) in length. It may be good to review chapter 6 in Everyday Bible Study
to recall what each of these four themes are about.
According to Act 19:11-22, God performs miracles through Paul like God's Redemption story in the Bible metanarrative. God redeems Humanity by saving them from their sins. The Bible mentions Paul performing miracles in Acts 19:11–22. People would be healed, and demons would be banished by touching Paul's clothing. Additionally, Paul would invoke the name of Jesus to cast out evil spirits. That same Jesus who was crucified and died on the cross at Calvary to atone for our sins. The word of the Lord spread throughout the land and witnesses of the miracles being compelled to publicly confess their sins are two other high points in the scripture. These observers seen God's promises in action and were therefore saved. Redemption is seen in many ways in this scripture. B.
How does your theological principle from Acts 19:11-22 fit with the rest of the Scripture?
This principle is the one you have written out in 1-3 sentences in the Interpretation Assignment. If your theological principle is a true Biblical principle, it will be reflected throughout the Scriptures. Where is the theological principle discovered in this New Testament narrative found elsewhere in the Scriptures? Your explanation should be 1 paragraph (150-300 words) in length. Be specific. Give, explain, and cite your supporting
passage(s) from Scripture. Demonstrating a theological point about the power of God's word through those He appoints. In Bible we see God reminds us not to put faults god or act above Him. Paul went to the temple with the name of Jesus invoked and cast out evil spirits. and John 14:13 - 14 Jesus States, “Whatever you desire, it shall be given to you” so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. "If you ask me to do something in my name, I will." According to Acts 19:15, an evil spirit said to the Seven Sons, "Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?" This verse proves that if a person does not have a relationship with the Lord, using his name will not help. This is true for several reasons. In Act 4:12 Jesus says, “There is Salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given among men by which each of us can be saved.” In John 14:6 he confirmed this when he says “I am the way, and the truth and the life no one comes to the Father except through me.

C.
How does your theological principle from this passage in Acts reflect the person and work of Jesus Christ? State and explain at least one way that the theological principle of this passage correlates with something of the person and work of Jesus Christ. Your explanation should be 1 paragraph (150-300 words) in length. Be specific. Give, explain, and cite your supporting passage(s) from Scripture. In Philippians 2:9-11 God exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above all names so that at the mentions of Jesus’s names all knees will bow, in heaven, on Earth, and under the earth, every tongue shall confess him without reservation. The reason is in Ephesians 1:7 “Through him, we have redemption through his blood, forgiving sins according to his grace.' The
love of God for his creation is expressed in the fact that Jesus is the redeemer. As we are reminded in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave only begotten Son, so that every
person believing in him might not perish but have everlasting life.” Page 2 of 2
