Interviews with the Experts: Assignment Sheet The Interviews with the Experts Videos are intended to extend your understanding of the material in the textbook by giving you a behind-the-scenes look at aspects of personality and its application by some of the leaders in the field. There are no right or wrong answers, but your grade will be based on the nature, quality, and relevance of your responses. 1. Imagine that you are writing a brief description of this video for people who are considering watching it. How would you characterize or summarize it (in 50-75 words). Dr. Froming is a personality psychologist and he discusses the non-uniformity personality psychology had with Dr. Neimeyer during this interview. Dr. Froming explains the multiple areas of personality that can be studied even just during undergrad. He makes note of the different models that are broken down like the biosec model and such. 2. Identify any three “take-aways” that you got from this video. These could be any points that it made, thoughts that it sparked, or issues or applications that it discussed. Take-Away #1: That there are current Nobel prizes on theories that were debunked decades ago Take-Away #2: Intelligence is viable trait that is tested Take-Away #3: Cognitive social psychology has made a reappearance after time 3. Imagine that you are writing a review of this video that summarizes your evaluation of it. Please indicate what you liked BEST and LEAST about the video and give it a rating (based on a 5-star system). Note that the evaluation of your response is based on your identifying the things you liked BEST and LEAST, and your assignment of rating, and NOT the number stars you give it or whether you liked or disliked the video. Be sure to identify: A). What I liked Best: I liked the way Dr. N and Dr. Froming tied in development and social psychology together. I never thought of them as overlapping but in all reality, development is mostly based on behaviors that are absorbed by children from their parents and their peers. B). What I liked Least (or would like to have heard more about): I can’t think of anything that I disliked or wished I heard more about.
