Psychology Homework 1: About Me By: Ryan Tyszka
About Me ● I am currently enrolled at UConn as a Freshman student and I am Neurobiology and Physiology Major in the Pre-Med track ● I am from Naugatuck, Connecticut ● In the future I want to be a Neurologist so I plan on going to Med-School after my four years here at UConn. After going to Med-School I have to complete two to three years of residency (supervised work) to practice Neurology I chose this picture because it shows me playing the sport that really makes me happy and relates to the psychology of emotions.
Reason to take Psychology 1100 ● I want to take Psychology 1100 for the following reasons ○ I enjoy the study of the brain and behavioral patterns of humans so I thought that taking this course will allow me to follow my interest and get a more complexual understanding of the brain and behaviors ○ My next reason is because as a Neurologist you study the brain and help treat conditions to that and the nervous system; so knowing the most about the brain will give me a competitive advantage in my study ○ Lastly, I am minoring in psychology so this class is a must in order to get my minor degree in psychology

Psychology Article (link: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/04/19/magazine/mri-brain-activity-psychology.html The article interests me because this article is about the brain and cognitive function of it to interest me.The article is very believable. It makes sense to me by stating that there are desirable traits and undesirable traits. Knowing which traits could lead to parkinson’s and other diseases that corrode the mind . I believe that by finding these traits sooner that they may be treated and cured before damage can occur. Using psychology we can find the traits that connect people with the undesirable traits and help them. So psychology is helpful to connect these traits with other people’s cognitive traits.
