Final Presentation Topic 2 The topic I would like to use for my final presentation eating disorders in Adolescents. This can be challenging in adolescent and teen adults both men and women, as it may fail to notice the younger generation. There are s tudies which may suggest that 20 % of kids that are diagnosed with ADHD may also develop an eating disorders, which may include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and some may experience a binge eating disorder. With my final project presentation, I will be focusing on ADHD and eating disorders in childhood and adolescence. Our bodies go through so many different and hard stages in our life, low self-esteem, hormonal changes, emotionally feelings. “ The most common ones are autism spectrum disorder (42 %), learning disability (17 %), depressive disorder (12 % to 50 %), and anxiety disorder (15 % to 35 %) (Gnavel et al., 2019). In addition, recent studies suggest that 20 % of children with ADHD also develop an eating disorder (ED) (Ravi and Khan, 2020). In other words, people with ADHD are 3.8 times more likely to present an ED as a comorbid diagnosis (Levin and Rawana, 2016)”. To complete my final project, I will explore various scholarly articles on this subject. I will also include my own personal experience with an eating disorder. I will also include any feedback that my professor may have to make sure that my presentation is polished. Reference: ADHD and eating disorders in childhood and adolescence: An updated minireview.
