What is the construct you selected? 2 pts I choose Parenting Style as my construct. 3. What was the hypothesis in the study that included your construct of interest? If quoting, use quotation marks. (Note if there is more than one hypothesis involving your construct, choose one to focus on for this assignment). 4 pts content / 1 pt format This article consists of six different hypotheses. All of which pertain to my chosen construct. I chose to focus on the third hypothesis. “The positive association between active parental guidance and (a) attitude, (b) perceived norms, and (c) perceived behavioral control toward consuming vegetables is moderated by perceived parenting style, such that their effects will be stronger among children who perceived an authoritative parenting style” (Yee, 2021). 4. Where was the hypothesis found in the introduction? Is this where it should be located based on this week’s readings? 4 pts The hypothesis was found at the end of the introduction. According to our reading this week that is where is should be found. 5. How was this hypothesis examined in the study? Provide a brief description of the research design. 4 pts Yee (2021) used self-administered survey taken by 1,113 elementary to high school age students. This data was secondary analysis from a previous study done by Yee and other researchers . 6. Is this research This is a correlational research design because it tests the

Participants answered questions on a survey rating their views giving a numerical value. 8. Based on how they operationalized the construct, was it self- report, behavioral, or physiological? Provide enough information to justify this answer. 4 pts Yee used a self-reporting measure. The survey was “an in- person computerized self-administered survey” (Yee, 2021). 9. What is the scale of measurement (nominal, ordinal, interval, or ratio)? Why do you think it is that scale of measurement? 4 pts Interval scale of measurement was used in this study. Examples of the questions on the survey asked “participants how much they agree to statements describing how often their parents provided verbal explanations and conveyed opinions about why certain foods are better for them, with 1 being “Strongly Disagree” and 5 being “Strongly Agree” (Yee, 2021). This example shows how participants are able to rate their agreement with the statements. 10. Is this I was able to find information about the operationalization of the construct in the method section and the measures subsection. These are the sections where the information should be found.
